Remeber that also the Czech had large amounts of M.95, but the several thousand the Bulgarian received did not hurt the mass of M.95 snipers which were available. In the "Sudetenkrise" 1938 there were complete units equipped with M.95. M.95 were used among the Wehrmacht, rifles mainly among the Luftwaffe and the SS, the carbines mainly behind the lines in the Reich. It's hard to believe, yes - but why would it be impossible? Remember that especially Steyr did things which are more than uncommon. This rifle was purchased four decades ago as a shooting rifle from a farmer who had found it. I also have a colleague at our shooting club who has a S/147 coded K98k which is a Steyr factory rework with matching serial BNZ shield marked barrel - and it's has a very faint single rune on it. Of couse I cannot proof that and I learnt that noone "serious collector" would believe that, but that is OK.

It was thickly covered with dust, hanging there for the last 30-50 years and 100% legit. In Austria sometimes the guns appear you wouldn't have thought those exist - I somewhen picked a K98k double coded BCD/BNZ 4 with single rune from the wall of a museum. However, that is the reason I posted it here. You're correct, it's easier to say that something is wrong than to proof that it's original.
